Virginia Will Not Cooperate With NDAA Detention

RICHMOND, Va. – On Wednesday, the Virginia legislature overwhelmingly passed a law that forbids state agencies from cooperating with any federal attempt to exercise the indefinite detention without due process provisions written into sections 1021 and 1022 of the National Defense Authorization Act.

HB1160 “Prevents any agency, political subdivision, employee, or member of the military of Virginia from assisting an agency of the armed forces of the United States in the conduct of the investigation, prosecution, or detention of a United States citizen in violation of the United States Constitution, Constitution of Virginia, or any Virginia law or regulation.” Read the rest of this entry »

Nancy Pelosi Wants to Amend the First Amendment

Nancy Pelosi wants to amend the First Amendment. She thinks corporations have too much speech and she wants to limit it.

When Pelosi says “special interests,” she means the interests of those opposed to establishment Democrats. Clear Channel is a corporation. So is Fox News. There are thousands of websites, newspapers, think tanks and political action committees that Pelosi and the Democrats consider corporations.

In Citizens v. Federal Election Commission, the Supreme Court ruled that the free speech of corporations is protected by the First Amendment. Corporations that produce political books, documentaries, and other materials have the same freedom of speech rights as individuals. Read the rest of this entry »

Unplugging Americans From The Matrix

Americans, the British, and Western Europeans are accustomed to thinking of themselves as the representatives of freedom, democracy, and morality in the world. The West passes judgment on the rest of the world as if the West is God and the rest of the world are barbarians in need of chastisement, invasion, and occupation. As readers know, from time to time I raise questions about the validity of the West’s extreme hubris. (See for example, the following articles: Washington’s Insouciance Has No Rival and Is Western Democracy Real or a Facade? )

China is often a country about which Washington’s moralists get on their high horse. However, China’s “authoritarian” government is actually more responsive to its people than America’s “elected democratic” government. Moreover, however incomplete on paper the civil liberties of China’s people, the Chinese government has not declared that it can violate with impunity whatever rights Chinese citizens have. And it is not China that is running torture prisons all over the globe. Read the rest of this entry »

Chimps Throwing Poop And 29 Other Mind Blowing Ways That The Government Is Wasting Your Money

Why do chimpanzees throw poop?  The federal government would like to know and is using your tax dollars to investigate the matter.  Every single year, we all send huge amounts of our hard-earned money to the federal government.

We hope that they will spend that money wisely.  Unfortunately, that is simply not the case.  You are about to read some examples of how the government is wasting your money that are absolutely mind blowing.  Anyone that claims that there is not a lot of waste that can be cut out of the federal budget is lying to you.  Our politicians have racked up the biggest pile of debt in the history of the world and they are spending our money on some of the stupidest things imaginable.  It is imperative that the American people be educated about all of this outrageous government waste, because right now the political will to change this corrupt system is simply not there among the current crop of politicians in Washington.  We are stealing trillions of dollars from future generations and many of the things that our politicians are wasting that money on are almost too bizarre to believe. Monsanto threatens Vermont legislature over GMO labeling bill, says it will sue state

Things are heating up on the genetic engineering front in the state of Vermont, where an overwhelming 96 percent of Vermonters vehemently support “right to know” legislation that mandates full disclosure of genetically-modified organisms (GMOs) on food labels. But according to Ronnie Cummins from the Organic Consumers Association (OCA), Monsanto is now threatening to sue the state of Vermont should it dare to pass such legislation, which has stalled it in committee.

H.722, also known as the Vermont Right to Know Genetically Engineered Food Act, would require any food product that contains GMOs to be labeled as such. It would also prohibit GMO-containing foods from being labeled “all natural” or “naturally grown,” which is quite common today, including even on some food products sold at health food grocers. Climate Alarmist Calls For Burning Down Skeptics’ Homes

Writing for Forbes Magazine, climate change alarmist Steve Zwick calls for skeptics of man-made global warming to be tracked, hunted down and have their homes burned to the ground, yet another shocking illustration of how eco-fascism is rife within the environmentalist lobby.

Comparing climate change skeptics to residents in Tennessee who refused to pay a $75 fee, resulting in firemen sitting back and watching their houses burn down, Zwick rants that anyone who actively questions global warming propaganda should face the same treatment.

“We know who the active denialists are – not the people who buy the lies, mind you, but the people who create the lies. Let’s start keeping track of them now, and when the famines come, let’s make them pay. Let’s let their houses burn. Let’s swap their safe land for submerged islands. Let’s force them to bear the cost of rising food prices,” writes Zwick, adding, “They broke the climate. Why should the rest of us have to pay for it?” Read the rest of this entry »

Dog Lovers Are Now Enemies Of The State

Clueless police seem to like intimidating the public by shooting the dogs belonging to the innocent citizens they’re supposed to be protecting. In Tennessee, it took a federal jury to force the Tennessee Highway Patrol, kicking and screaming, to admit wrongdoing (the Cookeville, Tennessee police had already settled for $75,000) when a family’s dog was shot “by mistake.”

In the latest intimidation installment, “officer” (how he demeans the term) Thomas Griffin shot Michael Paxton’s dog on Good Friday after Griffin trespassed on Mr. Paxton’s property “by mistake,” pulled a gun on Mr. Paxton, and then shot and killed Mr. Paxton’s dog, Cisco.
